About Spirit World
'Spirit World' is a fantasy film that celebrates the charm of Japanese culture, directed by Eric Khoo. The story follows legendary singer Claire, played by Catherine Deneuve, who travels to Japan for a final sold-out concert. However, as the show ends, so does her life on earth. What follows is an unexpected journey into the spirit world, where Claire is guided by Yuzo, one of her biggest fans.
A co-production between Japan and Singapore, the film features an esteemed cast, including renowned Japanese actors Masaaki Sakai, Yutaka Takenouchi, and Jun Fubuki, alongside Catherine Deneuve herself. 'Spirit World' had the honor of being the closing film at the Busan Film Festival on October 11, 2024, and was also screened at the Tokyo Film Festival on October 29 and November 1, 2024.
